It's hard to believe that it's over fifty years since this wonderful man came to be our pastor. Such fun memories of when he and his family lived on our farm until the manse was built. He was a kind, encouraging, gentle man of God, and we were blessed to know him.

Memories from a little girl whose family (Fred & Sadie Ayres) were next-door neighbours to the Payne Family on Hogarth Ave in Toronto. Gertrude was my baby sitter at times. I remember Mrs. Payne giving me a big slice of fresh bread. The thing was she
buttered it before she cut it off the loaf. I thought that was neat. They also took me to their cottage at Bala. Don & I were in a canoe when a storm came up. I remember him trying to keep the boat away from the rocks on shore! But what I remember most was the day Don came home from the war. Everyone was so excited to see him. Precious memories always.
