Jimmy, You were witty, you were wise and you were one-of-a-kind. Always the grouch on the surface, but beneath that surface was a heart of gold. Life in our Village will go on, but will never be the same! No more "hey you" whenever we met! You will continue to be thought of every time I pass the old property, which I do almost every day. Many times when passing where the house stood, memories of the good times with Susan, Russell and Lil Carter come rushing back for no apparent reason - but always welcome. Unfortunately I am unable to attend your service. Rest in peace my friend, you will never be forgotten!

I have not walked with Kings nor Queens , Prince nor Princesses , not even Presidents or Prime Ministers , but I have walked with my dearest friend " Paw Taggart " What a journey ! We arrived in Fenelon , from Montreal on Sept. 15 1976 . That Monday we opened the Willows restaurant and about 8:30 in walked Jim Taggart . Grouchy, cranky, " What does one have to do to get a coffee around here " ? followed by " I don't frequent places run by Frogs from Quebec " . I turned around and burst out laughing. Paw Taggart and I have been friends ever since . I would describe Jim as a " cannon without a cannon ball " a " landmine without a detonator " and a " hand grenade without a fuse ". Jim, you have filled my life with a million stories , taught my that riches comes not from monetary wealth but from true friends . Rest in Peace . Maxi
